Update on Current Policies & Plans at Woman's Hospital Regarding Services and Appointments

To all of our patients, we wanted to update you on current policies and plans at Woman's Hospital regarding services and appointments.

For office appointments, when possible, all patients are asked to come alone, as visitors may be asked to not enter at the door. Woman's Hospital will be limiting access points to all visitors including limited access to the hospital at the hospital's main entrance, Assessment Center, and Physician Office Building.

Visitors that meet any of the following criteria will not be permitted inside the hospital:

-Symptoms of respiratory infection as noted below

-Have had any of the following within the last 14 days:

1) contact with someone with a confirm COVID-19 diagnosis

2) contact with someone under investigation for COVID-19

3) contact with someone who has been or is currently ill with respiratory illness

4) traveled internationally to countries with sustained community transmission

*****Viral respiratory symptoms to watch out for include the following:

fever

cough

shortness of breath

sore throat

If you have any of these symptoms, please call first rather than come to the office building. The vast majority of people do not get a serious infection, and are best off at home isolated from others.

We will be contacting all of our patients to discuss if we can accomplish your visit with phone, video, or tele-medicine appointment to limit traffic into the hospital and building as much as possible.

Guidelines from Womans:

Patients with severe viral symptoms

Your doctor will call the COVID Line 225-924-8321, to arrange Assessment Center evaluation.

Patients with mild to moderate viral symptoms

Manage via phone or telehealth (see below), if possible.

Community testing site

Anticipated to be operational starting tomorrow. Details pending.

Visitor restrictions:

Please refer to www.womans.org for updated specifics on COVID-19 and visitor restrictions. Woman’s understands the strain this will place on our patients and families. We will work with you to manage individual situations.

COVID-19 Exposure Screening:

Screening at the 3 access points (main entrance, Assessment center, physician office building) for patients and visitors starts tomorrow morning.

Patients who screen positive will be provided a mask to wear while in the facility.

Visitors who screen positive will not be provided access to the facility.

Elective surgery:

Woman’s is currently under normal operations and continually reassessing the situation. We do not want to disrupt access to care for our community unless absolutely necessary.
