Do you want to know if you are at a healthy weight? Well, evaluating if your weight is healthy or not by simply stepping on the scale is outdated and often unhelpful! Weight alone is not a good indicator of your health because it does not show you which pounds are coming from lean healthy muscle weight, which pounds are coming from fatty tissue, and which pounds are coming from water in your body. You can be within the recommended weight range and still carry too much fatty tissue, thus having all the same health risks that go along with it such as heart disease, diabetes, and even some forms of cancer, like breast cancer! Or you could be overweight on the scale, but actually be very healthy because your weight is made up of lean muscle mass. Also, without BIA, you don’t know how much of your weight is coming from water!
